WILWOOD ROTORS 2PC DISCS
FLOATING/FIXED BRAKE DISCS
Wilwood rotors 2pc discs or Brembo rotors
We offer a great variety of brake rotors to choose. Composite discs are composed from the brake rotor and the hut. The brake disc rotor (silver part of the photo) and the hub (black part of the same photo). The rotor could be supplied from WILWOOD, BREMBO, NATIONAL etc. The material of which is made a rotor could be cast iron, steel or Carbon Ceramic.
The distribution of the vanes of the rotor is very important because it improves the ventilation of the rotor, increasing its cooling capacity. As a result cracking resistance is increased in the “thermal shocks”.
The hub could be made of steel or aluminum. Usually is a reinforced disc in comparison of the cast iron monoblock (one piece casting) stock brake disc. It could be floating or fixed.
In the first case between the rotor and the hub there is a “freedom of movement” due to the expansion of the materials because of the upcoming temperature during braking and in the second case the rotor and the hub are “fixed” by the bolts.
The target is always one. Create “lightning fast” components for the Big Brake Kits, “minimize” the stopping distance and make braking “smooth”.
We produce complete 2pc brake discs from ø300X28mm up to ø435X38mm.
Brake rotors could be cross-drilled or grooved in different shapes or both drilled & grooved.
The cost of the floating or fixed disc is higher than a cast iron monoblock one. It consists of more elements and the work to do to produce them is significantly bigger. Balance and rectify the parts and then bolt them together requires special skills and knowledge.
Our engineers have the experience and skills to draw and provide the production steps with their attention to obtain a perfect product. Good looking and efficient at the same time.
Wilwood brakes offer a very big number of rotors with sizes and types that gives us the freedom to draw and produce the correct disc for each case.
Race car’s “homologated” discs or calipers are within our engineering capabilities.
We also service 2pc brake discs. Used and broken brake rotors need to be replaced by new ones. We can replace or upgrade your worn rotors, balance, rectify them and deliver them ready to fit.
